Place of creation London and Glasgow: Gowans & Gray Ltd.; Boston U. S. A.: Leroy Phillips. Edinburgh: Printed in Great Britain by Turnbull & Spears
Notes de Beaumont has noted on elf title page: ‘[Book purchased from] Grisham(?) Books Wallingford 6.83 80p’ Printed on half title page: “Repertory Plays No. 28”. Glassine dust jacket over paper wrappers. The lower cover has no printing. The upper cover is printed in black in red and in beige. The illustration shows a boy newspaper vendor in a street setting, dressed in a black coat and trousers, with black cap, and a red cravat, holding a pile of newspapers in his left hand, calling out to sell an individual copy, which is held aloft in his right hand. Signed: “Alan G MacLaughton(?)” bottom right. Head to tail, in black and red, the lettering is: “/ Repertory Plays No. 28/ A valuable rival/ Neil F. Grant/ London & Glasgow. Gowans & Gray Ltd./” The spine has in black lettering along its length: “/A valuable Rival Neil F. Grant/” The fold of the dust jacket round the spine is askew, which suggests printing before the glassine jacket was wrapped round the wrappers and the text. This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust. Another copy (probably) of this work is at British Library shelf mark 11778pp1/28
