Place of creation London: Routledge, Warne, & Routledge Farringdon Street; New York: 56, Walker Street [3], 121p. With four pages of publisher’s titles printed on front and rear endpapers and pastedowns.
Notes Yellow paper over boards. The lower cover has advertisements for publisher’s titles. Signed at tail: “E. Evans, Engraver and Printer, Raquet Court, Fleet Street.” The upper cover is blocked/ printed in dark green. At the head: “/ The Medical Student [in red letters]/ by/ Albert Smith [in yellow letters]/” There is an orange coloured medicine bottle which has a paper label containing instructions for taking the medicine. At the tail, the words: “one Shilling” are printed in black; “/London: Routledge, Warne & Routledge/” are printed in red letters. The spine is red, with: “/ The Medical Student by Albert Smith. 1s. [in black letters]/” Another copy (probable) of this work is at BL shelf mark X4/5980. This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust.
