Notes Robin de Beaumont’s detailed notes about this book are on a separate slip of paper. Yellow paper over boards. Lists of publisher’s titles are printed on endpapers and pastedowns. The lower cover has the series: “Books for the Country”. The upper cover is printed in colours. It features a microscope, with objects on two glass plates. Printed downwards from the head: “/ A companion to ‘Common objects of the Country’/ One Shilling/ Common objects of the/ Microscope/ by the Rev. J. G. Wood/ Illustrated by Tuffen West/” The spine has the title:”/ Common objects of the microscope/” printed along its length. The price: “1/- [one shilling]” is printed at the tail. Other copies (probably) are at BL shelf marks 1861 - 7005a44; 1868 - W16/5030. This book acquired with the generous assistance of the British Library Collections Trust.
