Description

A U.S. Air Force Douglas C-124A Globemaster II (s/n 49-256) in Korea. In September 1951, the the first C-124s went to Korea for testing with the 315th Air Division.

Original caption: "Korean laborers went wild eyed with excitement, wonder and disbelief when they caught their first glimpse of the huge US Air Force C-124 Globemaster II. But the familiary sight at this advanced Korean airstrip is no longer a novelty, and the laborers casually continue with their tasks, unimpressed by the giant transport. It flew the Korean airlift daily with other transports of U.S. Far East Forces 315th Air Division (Combat Cargo) for an extended period of rigid field tests."
