Description
Español: Códice de Roda, folio 1r. El titular, miniado en rojo, es el íncipit de la Historiae adversus paganos de Paulo Orosio, textualmente: Incipit Storie Pauli Horosi.

Manuscrito conservado en la Real Academia de la Historia (España), siglo X-XI, 232 folios (29 x 21 cm) en pergamino. Escritura visigótica. Encuadernado en cuadernos de 8 folios. Caja de escritura 23 x 15 cm o menores. Texto a línea tirada, menos los folios 161r.-176v. en los que el texto es a doble columna. Con lagunas en el texto, incompleto y parcialmente mutilado. Títulos con capitales visigóticas miniadas en rojo y azul; iniciales primarias polícromas, ornamentadas: zoomóficas, de lacerías, etc.; las secundarias: rellenas, fitomórficas, etc.; en el f. 197r. se reproduce Babilonia y en el f. 197v., Ninive y Toledo; en el f. 200v. mapamundi de San Isidoro; en el f. 206r. Adoración de los Reyes Magos; en el f. 232r. notación musical.

El códice se divide en dos bloques:

1º) Paulo Orosio, Historia (Storie Pauli Horosi), f. 1r.-155r.

2º) Diversas crónicas y textos misceláneos, f. 156r.-232r. Entre los que se encuentran:

  • Fragmentos de San Isidoro: Historia Wandalorum (f. 156r.-157v.), Historia Suevorum (f. 157v.-167r.), Chronica (f. 159r.-167r.) e [Historia Gothorum] (f. 167r.-176v)
  • Chronica Adephonsi III (h. 178r.-185r.)
  • [Chronica prophetica] (f. 186r.-189v.)
  • Collectiones in epistolas et evangelia: Passio Domini nostri Ihesu Christi / Smaragdus [Sancti Michaelis], (O.S.B.)
  • Fragmentos sobre el Credo o el Árbol de la ciencia
