Description
English: Bystanders observing street construction at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Olive Street. Druggist Thomas Halpin's business is visible at 3600 Olive Street, on the southwest corner of Grand Avenue and Olive Street. Grand is often remembered as a theater district, but it was also the site of pharmacies, medical supply stores, and hundreds of medical and dental offices. Retail stores and restaurants were established to support the rapid population growth west of Grand Avenue during the 1870s-1890s.
