Button
Description
English: Very chunky circular button made from a heavily leaded cast copper alloy. The button is thick, flat and nearly circular, 27 x 29 mm, and is decorated with a central larger boss surrounded by 8 smaller bosses. The central boss has a slight projection on the top. The flat reverse has a bold casting seam and a large squarish central projecting lug with a small circular perforation in the centre. The thickness with the lug is 15 mm. It weighs 20.8g and probably dates to the 17th century.
