Description
Views of the butter sculptures at the 2014 Ohio State Fair. The 15 sculptures, made of real butter and displayed in a refrigerated case at 46 degrees, included a butter cow and several official symbols of Ohio. Photo #1 features a butter cow and calf. Photo #2 features a white-tailed deer, an Adena pipe, and a can of tomato juice. Photo #3 also included a black racer snake and a bullfrog. The display was sculpted by Bob Kling, Alex Balz, Paul Brooke, Tammy Buerk, and Erin Swearingen, with guest sculptors Matt Davidson and Pat Healey. The mural behind the sculptures was painted by Ted Hendricks. The butter was donated by Dairy Farmers of America, Mideast Area. The first butter cow made an appearance at an Ohio State Fair in 1903.
