| Description |
The main feature of Institute Hill is Butler Memorial Hospital, part of the Butler Health System. A few years ago the hospital administration said it would move the entire organization and all services elsewhere. There was a huge furor; people who'd come to count on having the hospital in town didn't want it to go, but the old building's infrastructure was holding everything back. Eventually a solution was found. Some services are being moved elsewhere, many are staying, and the hospital itself is being drastically renovated. The project is big -- see the tiny guys in bright yellow-green? -- and well underway. This means there are large trucks rumbling up and down my street every week day, along with the ambulances and other cars that make up the normal traffic. |
