Description
English: Butcher Row circa.1900

This image shows Butcher Row looking south eastwards from the end of Walkergate. The street was known as Butcher Row from the 19th century and was originally part of the High Street, which ran from Highgate to the North Bar. It previously had many names, one of which was Fishmarketgate, after the fish market once situated in Wednesday Market.
