Summary

[edit]
Description Business end of one of Japan's earliest electric rail car trains - the 80 series built 1950. These electric trains ran on dc traction. I could not find any further notes about this class of train, though a very similar one is preserved in the Tokyo Metro Museum in Tokyo, Japan. (see my Tokyo album for notes and pictures). This particular unit is in the Kyoto Railway Museum in Kyoto, Japan. (Kyoto, Japan, Apr/ May 2019)
