Summary
[edit]DescriptionBury Wharf - geograph.org.uk - 280889.jpg |
English: Bury Wharf This area is know as Bury Wharf until 1955 there was a ferry across the river, in the days before effective road transport goods such as coal were brought to the village via the wharf. The river was embanked in 1965 preventing regular flooding (or use as a wharf) there is a sign saying boats may only launched by parishioners. The church in the background is St John the Evangelist. |
