BURPEE'S QUANTITY produces more pods to the vin e, and more shelled peas to a bushel of pods, than any other variety, excepting only our Burpee's Profusion. The vine grows two and a half to two and three-quarters feet in height, and is of very stout growth crowded with pods, borne generally in pairs. Under ordinary field culture they averaged fifty pods each, while we have counted as many as ninety pods on a single vine. The pods are three inches long and contain seven to nine large peas, so closely crowded together that they are flattened on the sides ; the quality is very good. The illustration herewith is exactly natural size, and it will be seen how well filled are the compact, handsome pods. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 25 cts.; quart 45 cts., postpaid. HEROINE. This is a medium Early Wrinkled. Pea of robust growth, uni- formly about two and a half feet high; fine for the home garden. It pro- duces abundantly long, pointed, well-filled pods, which contain from eight to nine fine large peas. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 25 cts.; quart 45 cts. SHROPSHIRE HERO. A very handsome Wrinkled Pea, uniformly grow- ing about two and a half feet "high ; second early ; it is very prolific, with long, square, well-filled pods. It is a fine acquisition ; well adapted for market gardeners ; the large, richly flavored peas will also make it a decided favorite in family gardens. Pkt. 10 cts.; pint 25 cts.; quart 45 cts., postpaid. IMPROVED STRATAGEM. The pods are of immense size and uni- formly filled with very large dark-green peas of the finest quality. All the good qualities of the old Stratagem are highly developed, and it is superior to the stock now generally sold as Stratagem. Vine medium height, but very stocky, with very broad, light-green leaves, and bearing an abun- dance of large, handsome pods. One of the very best varieties for market gardeners. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 25 cts.; quart 45 cts., postpaid. PRIDE OF THE MARKET. This famous Pea grows from eighteen inches to two feet high, and bears grand pods, well filled with large and finely-flavored peas from top to bottom of the haulm. Its robust consti- tution, enormous productiveness, and superior appearance insure its acceptance as a market favorite. The stock is not quite true from seed. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 25 cts.; quart 45 cts., postpaid. TELEPHONE. Of excellent sugary flavor; vines very strong: the pods are of large size, with six or seven large, delicious peas; height four feet. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 20 cts.; quart 40 cts., postpaid. CHAMPION OF ENGLAND. Undoubtedly one of the best Peas grown, and very popular. It is very productive, and the peas are of a delicious flavor ; height four to five feet. Per pkt. 10 cts.; quart 35 cts., postpaid. YORKSHIRE HERO. Long, round pods, closely filled with large, lus- cious, wrinkled peas; very productive. Well worthy of general cultiva- tion; of similar type to the well-known Champion of England; while in many sections it is a better and more productive Pea. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 20 cts.; quart 40 cts., postpaid. LAXTON'S EVOLUTION PEA. See illustration. The vines are of strong, sturdy growth, three to three and a half feet high, of a decidedly branch- ing character, and bear continuously an abundant crop of magnificent large pods, each containing eight to twelve wrinkled peas, of remarkable size and very rich and sugary flavor. It has been appropriately termed "The Everlasting Bearer," as from a single sowing it continues to bear as long as three months. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 30 cts.; quart 50 cts. BLISS'S EVERBEARING. Height of vine, two feet; pods three to four inches long; peas very large; quality very fine. Its growth is of a branch- ing character. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 20 cts.; quart 40 cts., postpaid. BLISS'S ABUNDANCE. Plant eighteen inches high; foliage large, thick, and dark green. Pods three to three and a half inches long, round, and well filled. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 20 cts.; quart 40 cts. HORSFORD'S MARKET GARDEN. This we consider identical with Bliss's Abundance. Prices the same. DWARF BLUE IMPERIAL. A good summer pea; prolific and of fine flavor; height two and a half feet. Pkt. 10 cts.; pint 20 cts.; quart 35 cts. ROYAL DWARF WHITE MARROWFAT. The best strain of dwarfy, white marrowfat pea. Per pint 20 cts.; quart 35 cts., postpaid. BLACK=EYED MARROWFAT. Hardy; productive. Per quart 35 cts. DWARF SUGAR. Gray-seeded. Edible pods, and «an be used in a green state like string beans; two feet. Pkt. 10 cts.; pint 25 cts.; quart 40 cts. TALL SUGAR. Similar to preceding, but taller. Per quart 40 cts. MAMMOTH MELTING SUGAR. This new variety is far superior to all others of the edible-podded class of garden Peas, not only in size of pod, but also in delicious quality. It grows to a height of five to six feet, and is wonderfully prolific. The pods are straight, smooth, and so brittle that they snap; without any string, and of the most delicious flavor. Per pkt. 10 cts.; pint 25 cts.; quart 45 cts., postpaid.
