ROUGH-COATED COLLIES. Of stud dogs at FORDHOOK KENNELS, we name:— Imported CLIFTON CHIEF, A. K. C. S. Book, 10,445, litter brother to Caractacus, pronounced the best Collie living, and for whom _;^5oo has been refused. Clifton Chief is by " Cremorne," K. C. S. Book, 21,010, by Champion "Rutland," 13,896, ex " Patience," 14,340. by "Clydesdale," 11,838, by "Old Cookie," 2847, ex " Maude," by " Old Cockie," 2847. Dam " Barby Rose," by " Cliftonian," 18,702, by " Staffa," 10,772,ex" Gazelle," 21,093, by" Champagne," 11,835, ex " Brenda II," 10,731. "Clifton Chief" is a large dark sable dog, with long head and semi-erect ears. He has an enormous coat, with very dense undercoat, good legs and feet, and a beautiful mane and frill. A glance is sufficient proof of his speed and working qualities. Weight in condition, 63 pounds. Height, 24 inches, and he is well broken. Imported FORDHOOK SQUIRE, A. K. C. S. B., 10,454. A grand, golden sable dog, with small ears, well carried, splendid head of good length, verj' heavj' outer coat, abundant undercoat, and a perfect brush. A Cabi- net Photograph (from which the above engraving was made) will be mailed upon receipt of 25 cts. His sire is one of the most noted Champion dogs of England, having repeatedly won the si.Kty guinea trophy, and his dam is full sister to Champion, " Miss Posey." Sire Champion '* The Squire," E. 15,767, by Champion " Charlemange," io,6gi, ex Champion " Flurrj'," 10,736. Dam " Wanda," by Champion " Donald," 13,879, ex "Miss Fox," by "Trevor," ex "Old Meg,' by " Trefoil," 4523, ex " Lassie." Imported BOBBIE, A. K. C. S. Book, 5911. Black with rich golden tan markings ; with white on breast and feet. Bobbie has particularly fine symmetry-, good head and brush, and a very dense coat. He was winner of the first prize Silver Medal at Philadelphia, 1885. There were thirtj^-seven Collies on exhibition, among which was the justly'celebrated Bruce of the Fylde, but Bobbie took the blue ribbon. His sire was Napier, bred by Mr. Robert Wilson, of Sheriff"^ide, Haddington, Scotland. His dam was Fly. Napier was got by 5lr. Wannop's dog Tyke, winner of first prize at Haddington show, 1880. HIGHLAND CHIEF. A. K. C. S. B. 5935. A rich Black-and-can dog, possessing a good coat, head, etc., and closely resembles his sire, Bobbie. Dam," Sweet Phillis," by Cham- pion "The Squire," 15,767.. Imported " Frisk," winner of third prize, K. C. Show,. I at Barnes, June, 188S, and dam of Sir Noel, first prize at I same show. Pa., 1886 ; she was e.xhibited when only nine months 1 old, competing against dogs eighteen months old. Sire, Champion Bruce of the Fylde, A. K. R., 145, winner of 25 prizes in England and America. Dam, Champion Zulu Princess, 896, winner of many cups, medals and ' prizes, by Champion Marcus, 7526, e.x Ruby III, 10,751. Stella, A. K. C. S. Book, 6041. Black, tan and white. Winner of second prize, New Haven and V. H.C.. New York Shows, puppy class, 18S5. Sire, imported "Brack." E. 18,833, by " Carlyle," 8505 ex " Sanfoil," E. 6513. Dam,. Extra choice puppies, older dogs, and stud fees will be matters of special correspondence.
