Summary
[edit]DescriptionBurning Picaso.jpg |
English: The experiment carried out in this photo was the burning of magnesium.
Magnesium is a highly flammable metal, although hard to ignite without a gas fire. To begin this experiment, in our schools physics laboratory a student began by cutting off a piece of magnesium and holding it with a tweezers, he then lit a Bunsen burner with gas and held the magnesium piece above the heat until the metal was hot enough to reach burning point(approx 4000 degrees Fahrenheit). The burning of said metal resulted in a bright white/blue light, seen in the entered photos.English: Faint figure looming in background of magnesium smoke from carried out experiment |
