Description
Deutsch: Sgraffito von 1915 an der Fassade am Spalenberg 22 in Basel von Burkhard Mangold (1873–1950). Bereits 1915 schmückte Burkhard Mangold die Haus Fassade «zum Wolf» am Spalenberg 22 in Basel, mit Szenen aus dem Kolonialhandel in Sgraffito Technik. Die Fassade mit dem Wolf als Signet soll angeblich Hermann Hesse inspiriert haben bei der Namensgebung zu seinem Basler Roman "der Steppenwolf", als er des Öfteren den Gemsberg herunter zu spazieren pflegte.
