Description
Deutsch: Über Jahrhunderte führte der Weg vom Rhein in die Stadt durch das 1420 erstmals erwähnte Rheintor – bis heute eines der Linzer Wahrzeichen. Um 1920, als diese Aufnahme entstand, war es allerdings bereits „für Fuhrwerke aller Art, Radfahren und Viehtreiben verboten“, wie das Schild links neben dem Torbogen verkündet. Im Glaskasten über dem Bogen ist noch die Rheintormadonna aus der ersten Hälfte des 14. Jahrhunderts zu sehen. Links im Bild der Friseursalon Schnickel, bis in die Zeit nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg eines der renommierten Linzer Geschäfte.
