Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bunker on Mynydd Drumau Marked somewhat dishonestly as house platforms on current OS maps this red brick structure is obviously some kind of bunker.

It is in the corner of a field, right next to a wide track, with no obvious access through the boundaries in between. Inside, there are 2 small square rooms separated by a narrow corridor. The south one is completely dark and the north one is illuminated only by the now coverless hatch in its roof. The bare walls inside show no sign of any fittings or ladders.

Update: A possible explanation has arrived from Nick Catford (of SubBrit www.subbrit.org.uk ) in response to a query by Geograph member Hywel Williams. The design of this bunker seems almost identical to the one in the 3D sketch halfway down the page in the following link: http://www.aviationmuseum.net/decoys.htm

If true it would mean that there was a top secret decoy site on the top of Mynydd Drumau, designed to attract world war 2 bombers away from Swansea.
