For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Mittelstädt: 10.10.73-la-Bez. Potsdam: Schmelze der Freundschaft-Mit einer Schmelze der Freundschaft verliehen am 10.10.73 ausgezeichnete Metallurgen der UdSSR und der DDR im Stahl- und Walzwerk Brandenburg der sozialistischen ökonomischen Integration beredten Ausdruck. Als nach rund sechsstündiger Brenndauer am rekonstruierten Siemens-Martin-Ofen XI der Abstich erfolgt, ist der Erfolg der internationalen Schmelze gesichert. Die vorgegebene Tonnenzahl wird weit überboten. Die gemeinsame Verwendung der besten Erfahrungen der Schmelzer aus der UdSSR und der DDR zeigt ein überzeugendes Ergebnis.
