ADN-ZB Deutsche Demokratische Republik 26.11.1971 schw Das Waffenmuseum von Suhl hat in einem 1650 erbauten Fachwerkhaus - einem alten Malzhaus - seinen Platz (unser Foto). Im Zentrum der Stadt geleggen, in der das Waffen produzeirende Handwerk seit dem 16. Jahrhundert seine Heimatstatt hat, ist es ein Anziehungspunkt für die vielen in- und ausländischen Besucher, die in den zahlreichen Ferienorten des Thüringer Waldes im Sommer wie im Winter ihre Urlaubstage verbringen. Das Museum bietet einen interessanten Überblick über die Entwicklung der Jagd- und Sportwaffen sowie anderer Handfeuerwaffen. Die thüringische Bezirkshauptstadt ist ja bekanntlich durch ihre Jagdwaffen- und Fahrzeugproduktion und in jüngster Zeit durch die modernen Wettkampfstätten für Sportschießen auch über die DDR-Grenzen hinweg populär geworden.
