For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Buna, VEB Chemiekombinat, Ablauf der Kläranlage ADN-ZB Schaar 4.10.1971 Bez. Halle-Um klares Saalewasser bemühen sich die Werktätigen des VEB Chemiekombinat Buns. Die mechanisch gereinigten und neutralisierten Abwässer des Kombinates fließen wieder in die Saale (Foto) . Anfang dieses Jahres konnte eine Neutralisationsanlage in Betrieb genommen werden, die stündlich 8500 Kubikmeter Fabrikationsabwasser völlig neutralisiert. Um auch gelöste organische Substanzen aus den Abwässern zu entfernen, wurde im Kombinat eine biologische Versuchsanlage errichtet, deren Erfolg es gestattet, mit den Projektierungarbeiten für eine Großanlage zu beginnen.
