For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Meliorationsprojekt "Conventer Niederung" Zentralbild Sindermann 10.4.1968 Rostock: Umfangreiche Wasserregulierungsarbeiten...sind zur Zeit auf dem Gebiet der "Conventer Niederung", Kreis Bad Doberan, im Gange. Das Gebiet umfaßt 1700 ha. Insgesamt soll im Ostseebezirk eine Fläche von rund 70000 ha - das ist mehr, als die gesamte landwirtschaftliche Nutzfläche der Insel Rügen beträgt, - bis 1970 melioriert werden. Die Arbeiten in der "Conventer Niederung" werden vom Ingenieur-Baubetrieb Berlin geleitet. Es wurde errechnet, daß die Erträge in diesem Gebiet nach Abschluß der Arbeiten bis auf das Dreifache steigen werden. Als Gemeinschaftseinrichtung von sieben Landwirtschaftlichen Produnktionsgenossenschaften und einem Volkseigenen Gut wird dann ein Trockenwerk den Betrieb aufnehmen, das hochwertiges Viehfutter herstellen wird.
