Tabarz, Thüringerwaldbahn, Hinweisschild

Zentralbild Demme 24.4.1967 Erfurt: Thüringerwaldbahn für den Urlaubsverkehr gerüstet. Ein Zug der Thüringerwaldbahn verläßt Tabarz in Richtung Friedirchroda. Moderne Gelenkzüge, Trieb- und Beiwagen aus der Produktion des VEB Waggonbau Gotha bestimmen den hohen Fahrkomfort der Bahn, die zu den ältesten deutschen Überlandstraßenbahnen zählt. In Vorbereitung des Urlauberverkehrs 1967 wurden sämtliche Wichen erneuert und große Streckenabschnitte rekonstruiert. Allein 1966 legten die Bahnen auf der 21,7 Kilometer langen Strecke, die von Gotha nach Waltershausen, Friedrichroda und Tabarz führt, 1,4 Millionen Kilometer zurück.
