For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Rostock, Südstadt, Bezirkskrankenhaus Zentralbild Lehmann 9.12.1965.bre-at.-Zum Tag des Gesundheitswesens - Ein neues Bezirkskrankenhaus in Rostock-Südstadt wird am 9.12.65 seiner Bestimmung übergeben. Unser Bild zeigt die Außenansicht dieses modernen Gebäudes, in dem 557 Betten den Kranken zur Verfügung stehen. Für Neugeborene stehen zusätzlich 44 Betten zur Verfügung. Rund 700 Mitarbeiter werden in dieser neuen Klinik für die Kranken arbeiten, davon 100 Ärzte und 354 Mitarbeiter des mittleren medizinischen Personals unter Leitung des Ärztlichen Direktor, Medizinalrat Dr. med. Ernst-Gustav Michelsen, verdienter Arzt des Volkes, der zugleich Chefarzt der Chirurgischen Klinik ist.
