For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Magdeburg, Behelsbrücke, Neue Elbebrücke
Zentralbild Biscan 27.7.1965 Der Bau der neuen Elbebrücke geht seinem Ende entgegen. Unser Bild zeigt einen Blick auf die Baustelle und die alte Behelfsbrücke (links im Bild), die nach 1945 errichtet wurde. Nach Fertigstellung der neuen Brücke wird sie abgetragen. Mit ihrer Länge von 2600 Metern und ihrer freien Stützweite von 130 Metern wird die neue Brücke die größte bisher in der DDR gebaute Brücke in Hohlkastenträger-Bauweise. Am 7. Oktober 1965, am Tag der Republik, soll sie dem Verkehr übergeben werden. |
