For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Frankfurt/Oder, VEB Halbleiterwerk, Schichtwechsel Zentralbild Stöhr 12.10.1964 In den fünf Jahren seines Bestehens hat sich der VEB Halbleiterwerk Frankfurt-Oder stürmisch entwickelt. Die Produktion des Halbleiterwerkes - Alleinhersteller von Transistoren und Gleuchrichtern in der DDR - verdoppelte sich sowohl im Umfang als auch wertmäßig und erreicht in diesem Jahr über 10 Millionen Bauelemnete mit einem Wert von 60 Millionen MDN. Die künftigen "Feldherren der Produktion", wie die Halbleiterbauelemente von Wissenschaftlern genannt wurden, ermöglichen die Automatisierung ganzer Produktionsprozesse.
