For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Brüggmann-Nl-Qu 16. 8. 1963 Berlin: Automatische Verkehrssignalanlage an der Kreuzung Dimitroff-Greifswalder Strasse. Eine moderne automatische Verkehrssignalanlage, die vom Institut für Reglungstechnik entworfen wurde, hat am 14. 8. 1963 an der Kreuzung Dimitroff-Greifswalder Strasse in Berlin den Probebetrieb aufgenommen . Die Anlage, die als künftige Standards für die DDR vorgesehen ist, arbeitet in dre Regel nach einem genau berechneten Programm. die Länge des Umlaufs bzw. einer Periode beträgt 50 Sekunden. Zwischen den Signalzeiten leigt eine Zeit von 3-4 Sekunden. Es gibt Signale für die Eisenbahn, den Fahrzeugverkehr und den Fußgänger. Das Fußgängersignal steht am gegenüberliegenden Randstein. Jede Fahrbahn wird gesondert signalisiert. In besonderen Situationen kann die Anlage auch in Form handgeschaltet werden. UBz: Oberes Foto: 200 Meter vor der Ampel warnt ein Schild die Kraftwagenfahrer auf die Sieganlanlage aufmerksam. Unteres Foto zeigt (links)das Signal das für die Fahrzeuge gehört.
