For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Link-27.4.65-fso-Potsdam - Potsdam an der Havel, heute eine der Bezirkshauptstädte der DDR, war im 2. Weltkrieg weitgehend zerstört worden. Heute sind nicht nur ein großer Teil der architektonisch wertvollen historischen Gebäude wiederhergestellt, sondern auch zahlreiche Neubauten errichtet worden, die der Stadt in vielen Teilen ein neues Gesicht geben. UBz.: Zu den Neubauten Potsdams gehören auch diese modernen Wohnblocks und die Verkaufsstellen an der Straße "Am Kanal"."
