For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
ADN-ZB-Schmidt We-Schm 30.1.1963 Neue Salicylsäurefabrik in Leuna übergeben- Eine nach modernsten Gesichtspunkten errichtete Salicylsäurefabrik wurde am 29.1.63 in den Leuna-Werken einen Woche vorfristig ihrer Bestimmung übergeben. Die technischen Ausrüstungen dieser neuen Anlage, die dem technisch-wissenschaftlichen Höchststand entsprechend. stammen sämtlich aus der DDR-Produktion und repräsentieren einen Wert von fünf Millionen DM. Den Einsatz der modernen Mess- und Regeltechnik trägt wesentlich dazu bei, dass die Arbeitsproduktivität in diesem Neubau mehr als dreimal so hoch sein wird wie in der alten Anlage der Leuna-Werke. Salicylsäure ist ein wichtiger Rohstoff für die pharmazeutische und die Farbenindustrie, der unter anderem zur Herstellung von Mitteln gegen Fieber und rheumatische Erkrankungen benötigt wird. UBz.: Bei einer ersten Besichtigung erläuterte der Betriebsleiter der neuen Salicylsäurefabrik Dr. Sedlar (Mitte) Gästen die Arbeitsweise der Ausfallrührbehälter.
