For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Adlershof, Sendeanstalt, Fernsehzentrum Zentralbild DRR 14.12.1962 10 Jahre Deutscher Fersehfunk Der Deutsche Fernsehfunk feiert am 15.12.1962 sein zehnjähriges Bestehen. Nachdem im Jahre 1950 die Grundsteinlegung zum Fernsehzentrum-Berlin-Adlershof erfolgte, begannen nach einigen Versuchssendungen 2 Jahre später im Dezember 1952 offizielle Versuchsprogramme täglich ab 20,00 Uhr. Zu dieser Zeit gab es 75 Fernsehgeräte. Inzwischen ist die Sendezeit des Deutschen Fernsehfunks von den Anfangszeiten täglich 1 bis 1-2 Stunden Dauer auf über 63 Stunden in der Woche angewachsen. Die Zahl der in der DDR angemeldeten Fernsehgräte betrug am 31.10.62 1 807 703. Das bedeutet, daß nahezu in jedem dritten Haushalt ein Fernsehgerät steht.
