For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild Hochneder-Gahlbeck 7.6.1960 2. Arbeiterfestspiele. Mit dem FDGB-Kunstpreis ausgezeichnete Werke. Am 4.6.1960 wurde im Städtischen Museum in Karl-Marx-Stadt die Kunstausstellung der 2. Arbeiterfestspiele eröffnet. Sie zeigt Arbeiten von Künstlern, Laienschaffenden aus Zirkeln der Betriebe, der Industrie und Landwirtschaft, der Nationalen Volksarmee und der Pionierorganisation "Ernst Thälmann". Einige der Künstler deren Werke in der Ausstellung gezeigt werden, wurden mit dem Kunstpreis des FDGB ausgezeichnet. UBz: "Der neue Anfang". Gemälde von Heinrich Witz. Für das Werk wurde der Künstler mit dem Kunstpreis des FDGB 1960 ausgezeichnet.
