Berlin, Humboldt-Universität, Institut für Immunbiologie Zentralbild Quaschinsky Qua-Ms 6.6.1959 Das Institut für Immunbiologie in Berlin Eine Einrichtung des Ministeriums für Gesundheitswesen ist das Institut für Immunbiologie in Berlin-Niederschöneweide. Es ist das Zentrum für die Erkennung und Bekämpfung der spinalen Kinderlähmung in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik. Weiterhin ist das Institut internationales Grippezentrum und Forschunsstätte für Erreger grippeähnlicher Erkältungskrankheiten, deren Bekämpfung besondere volkswirtschaftliche Bedeutung durch die Verhinderung des Arbeitsausfalles bei diesen Erkrankungen zukommt. UBz: Das Institut ist für siene Aufgaben auf das zweckmässigste und modernste ausgerüstet und vor mit jeder nur möglichen Sicherung gegen eine Übertragung von Erregern versehen. So befindet sich z. B. neben Schleusen und Desinfektionseinrichtungen jede Abteilung in einem besonderen Gebäude.
