For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Zentralbild-Köhne Frö-Noa A.V.2872 4.6.1.1959 Feinmeßzeugfabrik Suhl unterstützt Chemieprogramm Eine halbautomatische Meßstraße für den VEB Stickstoffwerk Piesteritz stellen Facharbeiter und Techniker der volkseigenen Feinmeßzeugfabrik Suhl gegenwärtig fertig. Dieses Mehrstellenprüfgerät wird in Kürze in Piesteritz für die Dickenmessung von Piacrylplatten (Plexiglas) eingesetzt. An sechs Stellen zugleich testet das Aggregat die Piacryl-Platten Stück für Stück mit höchster Genauigkeit ab und überträgt die Meßergebnisse auf ein Lichtanzeigegerät. Zur Zeit werden diese Arbeitsvorgänge im Stickstoffwerk in zeitraubender Handarbeit mit Mikrometern vorgenommen. Das neue Gerät konstruierte ein Kollektiv junger Ingenieure des Suhler Betriebes innerhalb eines Jahres. UBz: Monteur Walter Zock nimmt einen Probelauf an der halbautomatischen "Meßstraße" vor.
