For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.

Über 500 neue Schiffe bis 1965. Über 500 moderne Fracht- und Passagierschiffe sowie Fischerei-Fahrzeuge sollen nach entsprechenden Vorschlägen innerhalb des Siebenjahrplanes in den vier DDR-Hochseewerften in Rostock, Warnemünde, Wismar und Stralsund gebaut werden. Die Werktätigen der Stralsunder Volkswerft werden in erster Linie Fischerei-Fahrzeuge bauen, so unter anderem 171 Mitteltrawler. Zur Zeit befinden sich noch 12 für Island bestimmte Kutter im Bau, die gegenüber anderen Fahrzeugen dieser Art mit fast doppelt so starken Motoren ausgerüstet sind.

UBz.: Weit über 500 Fischerei-Fahrzeuge tragen bereits das Firmenzeichen der nach 1945 erbauten Werft am Stralsund. Der mit dem Siebenjahrplan unter anderem auch mit dem Bau von hochmodernen Fangfahrzeugen für die Fischerei im tropischen Gewässer eine große Perspektive gegeben wird. - Dieser Kutter ist für Island bestimmt. 800 Pferdestärken sprechen für seine Leistungsfähigkeit auf der Jagd nach dem "Silber des Meeres" auch in den Gewässern des hohen Nordens."
