Description


For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Original historic description: 

Rostock, Überseehafen, Stückgut wird gelöscht Zentralbild Mellahn 11.2.1959 DDR-Handelsflotte wird auf 110 Schiffe anwachsen Die Handelsflotte der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik wird bis Ende 1965 über 110 Schiffe verfügen. Gegenwärtig befahren 32 Schiffe unter der schwarz-rot-goldenen Flagge der DDR die Nord- und Ostsee, das Mittelmeer und den Indischen Ozean. Allein im vergangenen Jahr stellte die Deutsche Seereederei fünf 10000-Tonnen-Frachter und zwei 4000-Schiffe in Dienst. UBz: Zu den im Vorjahr in Dienst gestellten Schiffen gehört der 4000-Tonnen-Frachter "Stubbenkammer". Die Ladung wird nach erfolgreicher Fahrt der "Stubbenkammer" in die Häfen der VAR im Rostocker Hafen gelöscht.
