For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Dr.-Külz-Ring, Wohnblocks, Straßenbahn Zentralbild Löwe 2.2.1959 Zum 14. Jahrestag der Zerstörung der Elebestadt (13.Februar) - Wiederaufbau der Innenstadt Dresdens. Das im Zentrum der Stadt gelegene Gebiet zwischen der Freiberger- und der Ammonstrasse wurde am 1. November 1956 der FDJ als "Bau der Jugend" übergeben. Die jungen Bauarbeiter haben sich für dieses Jahr das Ziel gesetzt, in Großblockbauweise 525 Wohnungseinheiten montagefertig herzustellen. UBz: Neue Wohnhäuser mit Geschäften am Dr.-Külz-Ring, die kürzlich fertiggestellt worden sind. Im Hintergrund der Turm des Rathauses.
