For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Berlin, Hohenschönhausen, Eislaufbahn Zentralbild Zastrow Zastz-Noa. 20.1.1959 Letzte Handgriffe an der Freiluftkunsteisbahn im Dynamo-Forum, Berlin-Hohenschönhausen Die Freiluftkunsteisbahn im Dynamo-Forum, Berlin-Hohenschönhausen, Steffenstr. steht kurz vor ihrer Eröffnung. Am 20.1.1959 um 16.00 Uhr wurden die Kühlmachinen für das erste Eis, das eine Stärke von 4 cm erhält, ausgeladen. Die Elektriker, die noch mit ihren Leitern die Bahn bevölkern sowie die Genossen der VP, die mit der letzen Reinigung der Zementfläche beschäftigt sind, müssen sich beeilen die Bahn zu verlassen, da sie sonst in die Eisfläche einfrieren werden, denn das Eis wird noch bei sommerlicher Temperatur von 9 Grad Wärme fest bleiben. Das erste Training soll bereits am 21.1.1959 beginnen. UBz: Koll. Martin Luckert vom VEB Maschinenfabrik Halle beim öffnen der Ventile für die erste Vereisung der Bahn am 20.1.1959 um 16.00 Uhr.
