Gertrud Holl kandidiert für die Volkskammer.
Gertrud Holl sagte: "Die Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands hat bewiesen, dass sie recht hat mit ihrer Behauptung, Faschismus bedeutet Krieg." Sie vertrat immer die Interessen der Arbeiter. Deshalb wurde die jetzt 52 Jahre alte Meisterin aus der Mitteldeutschen Kammgarnspinnerei in Leipzig, Gertrud Holl, im Jahre 1946 Mitglied der KPD. Sie arbeitete nach Kriegsende in der Zwirnerei, wo sie im Jahre 1947 in die BGL gewählt wurde und ab 1948 BGL-Vorsitzende war. Die Prüfung als Meister der volkseigenen Industrie legte die Kollegin Holl im Jahre 1954 ab und war bis 1957 Stadtverordnete in Markkleeberg. "Ich habe mir nicht träumen lassen, dass ich einmal als Frau für die höchste Volksvertretung vorgeschlagen würde", sagte Gertrud Holl.
