For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Schenkendorf, Bauern beim Melken ADN-ZB Weiß 17.1.1959 LPG Schenkendorf - achtfacher Millionär. Auf große Erfolge kann die LPG "7. Oktober" (Typ III) in Schenkenberg, Kreis Delitzsch, zurückblicken. Die Genossenschaft, die heute bei 327 Mitgliedern und 1337 ha LNF einen Vermögenswert von acht Millionen DM aufzuweisen hat, wurde 1952 von 14 Bauern mit 58 ha LNF gegründet. Schenkenberg mit seinen 5 Ortsteilen zählt heute noch sieben einzelwirtschaftende Bauern. Seit Bestehen der LPG wurden 8 neue Ställe errichtet, 13 große Stallumbauten vorgenommen und 250.000 DM für soziale und kulturelle Einrichtungen ausgegeben. Laufend stieg auch der Wert der Arbeitseinheiten. Betrug er 1953 real nur 97 Pfennig, so waren es 1957 bereits 6, 63 DM und für das vergangene Jahr wurden 9.- DM errechnet, wovon 8.- DM zur Auszahlung kommen. Für 1959 sind 12.- DM geplant. UBz: Im Tbc-freien Rinderstall im Ortsteil Sterchwitz arbeitet der Meister der Rinderzucht Paul Jesche mit seiner Frau Hilde. Der Rinderviehbestand wird von insgesamt 781 auf 1054 Stück bis 1960 steigen.
