Leipzig, Hauptbahnhof, Auskunft Zentralbild Quaschinsky-Schmidt Qua-Pz. 10.11.1958 Zur Vorbereitung der Volkswahlen Wiederaufbau des Hauptbahnhofs in Leipzig Die letzte Etappe beim Wiederaufbau des Hauptbahnhofs von Leipzig, dem größten Kopfbahnhof Europas, wird z.Zt. mit der Überdachung des Querbahnsteiges in Angriff genommen. Überall sieht man große Gerüste, Betonpfeiler werden gegossen und riesige Betonträger für die Dachkonstruktion errichtet. Aber auch die endgültige Einrichtung der Vorhalle geht ihrem Ende zu. Der Verbindungsgang zwischen der Ost- und Westhalle des Bahnhofs ist fast vollständig fertiggestellt. Neben Verkaufsräumen enthält er eine Mitropa-Imbißstube, eine Auskunft, eine Gepäckannahmestelle sowie eine Fahrkartenverkaufsstelle für Auslandsfahrkarten verbunden mit einer Geldwechselstelle der Deutschen Notenbank. UBz: Blick in den Verbindungsgang, zwischen der Ost- und Westhalle. Im Vordergrund die Zentrale Auskunft, welche von 6 - 24 Uhr geöffnet ist.
