For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Frankfurt/Oder, Rathaus Zentralbild Mehler Quasch-Ho. 31.10.1957 Frankfurt-Oder Die Stadt Frankfurt-Oder wurde während des Krieges zu etwa 70 % zerstört. Sie verlor insgesamt etwa 1000 Gebäude, davon allein 750 in der Innenstadt. Für den Neuaufbau der Stadt stehen dem Rat der Stadt im Jahre 1957 rund 13 Millionen DM zur Verfügung.
