Zentralbild Wlocka-Bey-L 8.6.1957 Die Deutsche Hochschule für Körperkultur und Sport in Leipzig. Die Deutsche Hochschule für Körperkultur und Sport in Leipzig (DHfK) ist für viele Sportler und Sportbegeisterte Menschen in Deutschland schon zu einem Begriff geworden. Sie ist eines der vielen Friedenswerke der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik und ein sichtbarer Ausdruck des Neuen im Sport. Am 22. Oktober 1950 wurde die DHfK in einem feierlichen Akt in Leipzig gegründet. Waren es im Jahre 1950 achtzig Studenten, so sind es heute 1700 Studierende, die in den einzelnen Studienzweigen der DHfK ausgebildet werden. 180 Dozenten, Assistenten und Aspiranten sind heute in der Lehr- und Forschungsarbeit tätig. Die Deutsche Hochschule für Körperkultur hat sich in den vergangenen sechs Jahren äußerst schnell entwickelt und viele Erfolge errungen. Jährlich werden 300 Diplom- Sport und Turnlehrer für den Einsatz in der demokratischen Sportbewegung zur Verfügung gestellt. Aber nicht nur die Zahl der Studenten wird weiter anwachsen. Die Hochschule selbst wird sich weiter entwickeln und die Institute werden ständig erweitert und ausgebaut.
