For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Plastiken Zentralbild Höhne-Pohl 16.10.1956 Bekannte Dresdner Bronzeplastiken kehrten zurück Die Dresdner Bronzplastiken "Putto mit Truthahn", "Schweinetreiber" und "Bär" sind dieser Tage aus Hamburg wieder in der Elbestadt eingetroffen. Die Plastiken waren von den faschistischen Machthabern während des zweiten Weltkrieges zum Einschmelzen nach Hamburg gegeben und dort in einem Buntmetall-Sammellager aufbewahrt worden. Bemühungen des Dresdner Instituts für Denkmalpflege und des Rates der Elbestadt führten dazu, dass die Stadt Hamburg die Rückkehr der Kunstwerke im Austausch mit ehemals nach Sachsen ausgelagertem Museumsgut ermöglichte. Die von dem Dresdner Bildhauer Georg Wrba geschaffene Plastik "Putte mit Truthahn" hatte einst vor dem "Italienischen Dörfchen" ihren Platz und grüsste die Besucher dieser weltbekannten Gaststätte als kleines Wahrzeichen Dresdens. Sie soll auch jetzt wieder vor dem restaurierten "Italienischen Dörfchen" aufgestellt werden. Der "Schweintreiber" soll, wie früher, vor dem Dresdner Schlachthof seinen Platz finden.
