24.4.1956 USA-Spionage Tunnel unter DDR-Gebiet Der amtierende Militärkommandant des sowjetischen Sektors von Berlin, Oberst Kozjuba, gab am Montagabend (23.4.56) auf einer Pressekonferenz vor zahlreichen in- und ausländischen Journalisten bekannt, dass am 22.4.1956 von sowjetischen Truppen eine amerikanische Abhörzentrale im demokratischen Sektor Berlins ausgehoben wurde. Amerikanische Stellen hatten im Gebiet von Altglienicke einen etwa 300 m langen Stollen angelegt, der zu den Fernmeldelinien der sowjetischen Truppen sowie zu den Fernmeldelinien der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik lief. Durch den Stollen ziehen sich Kabelleitungen, die vom amerikanischen Sektor ausgehen und an die Kabelleitungen der sowjetischen Truppen angeschlossen wurden. Im Anschluß an die Pressekonferenz fand eine Besichtigung der amerikanischen Abhörzentrale statt.
