Deutsch: USA-Spionage-Tunnel unter DDR-Gebiet

Der amtierende Militärkommandant des sowjetischen Sektors von Berlin, Oberst Kozjuba, gab am Montagabend (23.4.1956) auf einer Pressekonferenz vor zahlreichen in- und ausländischen Journalisten bekannt, dass am 22.4.1956 von sowjetischen Truppen eine amerikanische Abhörzentrale im demokratischen Sektor Berlins ausgehoben wurde. Amerikanische Stellen hatten im Gebiet von Alt-Glienicke einen etwa 300 m langen Stollen angelegt, der zu den Fernmeldelinien der sowjetischen Truppen sowie zu den Fernmeldelinien der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik lief. Durch die Stollen ziehen sich Kabelleitungen, die vom amerikanischen Sektor ausgehen und an die Kabelleitungen der sowjetischen Truppen anschlossen wurde.
Im Anschluß an die Pressekonferenz fand eine Besichtigung der anerikanischen Abhörzentrale statt.

English: US spy tunnel under GDR territory

The acting military commander of the Soviet sector of Berlin, Colonel Kozjuba, announced on Monday evening (23.4.1956), at a press conference before numerous domestic and foreign journalists, that on 22.4.1956, Soviet troops dug up an American monitoring center in the democratic sector of Berlin. American authorities had created a tunnel about 300 m long in the area of Alt-Glienicke, which ran to the telecommunication lines of the Soviet troops as well as to the telecommunication lines of the German Democratic Republic. Through the tunnels ran cable lines that emanated from the American sector and were connected to the cable lines of the Soviet troops. Following the press conference, a visit to the Anerican monitoring center took place.
