For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Dresden, Medizinische Akademie, chirurgische Klinik Zentralbild Höhne-Pohl 17.1.1956 Neue chirurgische Klinik der Dresdner Medizinischen Akademie übergeben. Ständig verbessern sich die sozialen Einrichtungen in unserer Republik. Eine neue chirurgische Klinik der Medizinischen Akademie "Carl Gustav Carus" im Krankenhaus Dresden-Johannstadt ist am Sonntag, dem 15.1.1956, feierlich ihrer Bestimmung übergeben worden. Die moderne Klinik verfügt u.a. über 320 (drei zwei null) Betten, überwiegend in Zwei- und Dreibett-Zimmern, und sechs Operationssäle mit Klimaanlage. Über 6 (sechs) Millionen DM hat die Regierung der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik für den Bau dieser chirurgischen Klinik ausgegeben, die die grösste und modernste in Deutschland sein wird, und die den werktätigen Menschen gehört. UBz: Die neue chirurgische Klinik. Der großzügige, architektonisch modern angelegte Bau macht den Eindruck eines Sanatoriums. Licht, Luft und Sonne können ungehindert in die Räume.
