NOTE: Engravings, etchings, photogravures, or any image where information would be lost, or the frame is integral part of the original postcard, document etc., DO NOT NEED their borders cropped; a cropped image of this type generally will violate the original artistic intent of the image, which includes the paper surrounding it. Especially images with {{Border is intentional}} should be not overwritten. If it is desirable to have a cropped version for specific uses, this should be uploaded as a separate file, and linked back to the original. This can be requested by using {{Extract image}} instead. If the file is a photo of an artwork in perspective and with context (a physical frame, a place where the work is located etc.), use {{Extract image}} for request for a detailed image or a flat copy. Any text from the border should be included in the image description. If the border contains author and license information, this may also be embedded in the file itself and the tag, {{Metadata from image}}, should be added. If cropping a JPEG, it is generally preferable to use a lossless cropping tool. You can use CropTool on this file, which supports lossless cropping (more info). For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme. Zentralbild Pietsch Boy-Ge 5 Mot. Größte Schwimmhalle Europas in Rostock eröffnet Die größte und modernste Schwimmhalle Europas wurde am Abend des 6. Jahrestages der Gründung der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik in Rostock feierlich eröffent. Nachdem der Oberbürgermeister der Stadt Rostock, Träger des vaterländischen Verdienstordens, Bruno Schmidt, aus den Händen des Stellvertreters des Vorsitzenden des Staatlichen Komitees für Körperkultur und Sport, Alfred Neumann den Schlüssel der Schwimmhalle empfangen hatte, ergriff vor Beginn der sportlichen Wettkämpfe der Meister des Sports Heinz Kitzig das Wort. Er dankte der Regierung der DDR für die neue herrliche Sportstätte und verband damit die Verpflichtung zum aktiven Schutz der Errungenschaften des friedlichen Aufbaus durch alle seine Sportkameraden. UBz: Eine Teilansicht der neuen Rostocker Schwimmhalle. Vorn das Schwimmbassin, links und rechts die Zuschauertribünen und im Hintergrund die Ehrentribüne. |
