Vom 3. bis 5. Dezember 1954 wird im Leninsaal des Hauses der Deutsch-Sowjetischen Freundschaft in Leipzig die 4. Verlegerkonferenz durchgeführt, die sich mit der Rolle, den Aufgaben und den Perspektiven des Verlagswesen und des Buchhandels in der Deutschen Demokratischen Republik beschäftigt. Der Konferenz wohnten Gäste aus der Sowjetunion, den Volksdemokratischen Ländern, der Volksrepublik China, sowie aus Österreich bei.

UBz: Gespräch in der Konferenzpause. Von links nach rechts: Der Leiter der Hauptverwaltung Polygrafische Industrie im Ministerium für Kultur der UdSSR S. S. Semjonow, Dolmetscher, Karl Wloch, Leiter des Amtes für Literatur und Verlagswesen, und der Stellvertreter des Ministers für Kultur der UdSSR A. J. Nasarow.
