For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Berlin, Königsheide, Kinderheim, Haus 1
Zentralbild Quaschinsky 8.12.1953 Im Hauptkinderheim des Magistrats in der Königsheide. Mitten in den herrlichen Kiefernwäldern am Rande Berlins schuf der Magistrat mit einem Kostenaufwand von 7,5 Millionen DM eine neue Heimstätte für 500 elternlose Kinder. Zu dieser grossen Kinderstadt gehören vier Kinderhäuser mit hellen, gemütlich eingerichteten Räumen, ein Ambulatorium mit einem Säuglingsheim, eine Schule mit zehn Klassenräumen, Physik- und Musikzimmer. Auf dem weiten bewaldeten Gelände haben die jungen Bewohner des Heims die Möglichkeit, sich viel in der frischen Luft zu bewegen und zu gesunden und frohen Menschen heranzuwachsen. In dieses Kinderheim werden auch Kinder aufgenommen, deren Eltern für einige Zeit aus persönlichen Gründen nicht imstande sind, ihrer Erzieherpflicht nachzukommen. UBz: Im Haus 1 sind die Drei- bis Sechsjährigen untergebracht. |
