For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.
Klein-Oschersleben, Kartoffelernte Zentralbild Biscan 14. 9.1953 Der "Schatzgräber" am Werk. In der Magdeburger Börde haben die MTS alle "Schatzgräber" eingesetzt, um die Kartoffeln zu roden. Diese von unserer volkseigenen Landmaschinenindustrie entwickelte Maschine hat sich schon im vorigen Jahre tausendfach bewährt und den Bauern und Landarbeitern viel Arbeit abgenommen. UBz: Die Traktoristen Franz Weber und Ursula Lampe von der MTS Kleinwanzleben auf einem Feld der Produktionsgenossenschaft "Sozialismus" in Klein-Oschersleben. Der "Schatzgräber" lässt keine Kartoffel in der Erde. Er holt jede Knolle heraus und wirft sie sauber auf die Erde. Menschliche Arbeitskraft ist nur noch nötig, um sie aufzulesen und zu verladen.
